Rodent Abatement Services For Morris Habitat For Humanity

Late last month Arrow Pest Control, a longtime New Jersey pest and termite control company, partnered with Morris Habitat for Humanity to provide rodent abatement services to a demolition project just getting underway in Old Bridge, New Jersey

According to Tom Wescoe, Director of Construction & Property Acquisition at Morris Habitat for Humanity, the organization, which serves Morris and Middlesex counties as well as portions of Somerset and Union counties, is focusing its efforts on a single-family home in Old Bridge in the coming months. The plan is to demolish the existing structure and then build a new, three bedroom, one and a half bath home on the lot.

“Habitat for Humanity called our office looking for a quote on demo baiting on one of their projects located a few miles from us. The phone call was forwarded to our Vice President Beatrice Ferretti who informed the gentleman that it would be our honor to perform the service at no charge as this is our community, and we take pride protecting the communities that we serve. It is just the Arrow way.”

When a vacant home or building is demolished, it is a reasonable and almost a guarantee for rodents that were taking shelter within the walls to clear out rapidly. This can cause a significant increase in rodent activity for neighboring properties. To stop the migration of rodents and the problems they cause, a pest control company will implement a rodent abatement program at the demolition site prior to the tear down to prevent these pests from moving on to the house next door or even one a couple of blocks away.

Not only is a rodent abatement service a courtesy to the community, it is often required by local municipalities. At Arrow Pest Control, we’ve been helping residential and commercial contractors address rodent infestations in structures slated to be torn-down for over 47 years and are committed to working closely with this non-profit in the future providing rodent abatement services, termite pre-treatments and other essential services in the communities that we service and where we live.
